Visit from IIKV to Cambridge Muslim College: A Step Toward International Cooperation

Said Yüce, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture (IIKV), visited Cambridge Muslim College (CMC), one of the UK’s and the world’s most respected Islamic institutions.

During the visit, a highly fruitful meeting was held with Dr. Abdal Hakim Murad, President of CMC. An agreement was reached for academic cooperation between Cambridge Muslim College—which has played a significant role in introducing many people in the UK and Europe to Islam and guiding them to embrace the faith, while also providing Islamic education to new Muslims—and İİKV.

It was agreed that postgraduate and doctoral students sent by İİKV would conduct academic and scholarly studies at CMC, and that Dr. Abdal Hakim Murad would also visit Istanbul periodically to deliver seminars within the framework of IIKV.

As part of the program, participation was also made in events held at Cambridge Mosque, one of the leading houses of worship in the UK.

Within the scope of the UK visit, talks and conferences were also organized at the library of the Leicester Marfield Institute.

In addition, the delegation took part in a camp organized in Edinburgh, Scotland, by the Qur’an Project for young people and new Muslims.

The program, held in a 400-year-old historical building and wide green fields, offered a setting where young people both engaged in sports and attended Qur’an lessons, accompanied by spiritually enriching conversations.

This visit is regarded as an important step toward strengthening İİKV’s academic and cultural relations on an international level.
