President Of Indonesian Council Of Sufi Ulema: We Highly Value The Methodological Pathway Of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi

On the 15th of October, the President and various members of a council of Sufi Ulema from Indonesia visited our Foundation.

On the 15th of October, the President and various members of a council of Sufi Ulema from Indonesia visited our Foundation. The Jakarta-based Council had previously issued and propagated a religious fatwa against the Fethullah Gulen and FETO organisation which has long co-opted and perverted the message and principles of Islam.

During his visit to the Foundation, the President of the Council Prof. Dr. Ahmed Rahman explained that “The Fatwa that we propagated does not contain any political intention or aim behind it. It was entirely from our own initiative that we desired to warn the world muslim community about the FETO organisation and its harmful character and dangers. That was our intention and we considered the Fatwa as a religious duty.”

The Executive President of the IFSC, Said Yuce stated that “This valuable Council which holds influence in Asia and South Asia should be congratulated for their high esteem of the Qur’an and Sunnah and steadfastness in adhering to its principles. Their decision to issue such a Fatwa was very wise and acted in accordance with goodjudgement.”

Executive President Said Yuce also provided a brief summary of the aims, mission and activities of the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture and then stated the following:

“The essence of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi’s words and treatises was the aim and emphasis on protecting and saving the Belief of muslims from the increasingly nefarious currents of scientistic materialism and philosophy which had started to weaken faith in God’s religion. The essence of his struggle was to save the Belief and to assist in providing security and welfare to the community and society.

Said Yuce also stated that the Sufi “Tariqas” have for centuries resisted those who have attempted to attack or harm Islam in many ways and that in our current times the muslims should assist one another in protecting and preserving the fundamental Belief of society. The Indonesian council members and guests also stated that they greatly esteemed the method of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi in saving and protecting Belief and in directing people towards’ a balanced Islamic way of life via the Qur’an and Sunnah. They also expressed their desire to visit our Foundation again and to pursue further meetings and mutual engagements.
