Impressions from 9th Arabic International Graduate Conference on Risale-i Nur

The ninth of the Conference on Risale-i Nur Studies, which was organized and hosted by the Istanbul Science and Culture Foundation, was held in Arabic on July 16-20

The ninth Conference on Risale-i Nur Studies, which was organized and hosted by the Istanbul Science and Culture Foundation, was held in Arabic on July 16-20. The participants from different countries were chosen by the scholars according to the quality of their papers. The moderators of the Arabic section of the conference were Risale-i Nur’s Arabic Translator İhsan Kasım Salihi, Jordanian Dr. Me’mun Jarrar, Algerian Professor. Dr. Ammar Cidal, and Prof. Dr. İshak Özgel. Specialists in the field conveyed important information about The Risale-i Nur and Bediuzzaman Said Nursi to nearly twenty participants from India, Indonesia, Morocco, Algeria, Iraq, and Tunisia. Also, an interactive learning environment was provided to facilitate the students’ presentation of their work to the scholars and the participants.

After the conference, evaluations and interviews were held between the scholars and the students in order to continue this interaction and to provide contribution and assistance to the students’ works. The program ended with a gala dinner with the attendance of professors, students, foundation members, and volunteer friends of the foundation.

The Gala program, which took place on the 19th of July in the Rüstempaşa Madrasa, started with the Qur’anic recitation at 19:00. Then the program, which continued with the short talk of the members of the foundation, the professors, and the participants, finally ended with a certificate ceremony.

International Activities

The International Unit of İİKV Explained Risale-i Nur at the Qadiri Gathering in Gambia

Representatives of the International Unit of the Istanbul Foundation for Knowledge and Culture (İİKV) attended the traditional annual gathering of the Qadiri community held in the African country of Gambia. As part of the program, the İİKV delegation came together with Sheikh Muhammad Gilani, one of the descendants of His Holiness Abdul Qadir Gilani and one of the most important spiritual leaders of the Qadiri path today. In the gathering, which took place in a spiritual atmosphere, various lessons and dhikr circles were conducted.
