IIKV Delegation Participates in an Islamic Unity and Education Program in Brazil!

The Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture (IIKV) delegation participated in a unique Islamic education program in Brazil. The program was held at a secluded retreat center located in a forest, two hours from São Paulo. This serene location, free from modern distractions like cell service and electricity (provided only during specific hours), offered an ideal environment for spiritual reflection and growth.

Amidst the peaceful sounds of nature, participants engaged in supplications, readings from the Qur'an, and reflections on the truths of Islam, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.

Faith Journeys of New Muslims in Brazil

The program welcomed new Muslim individuals and families from various Brazilian cities. They had the opportunity to explore Islamic truths through the Qur'an and the writings of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’s Risale-i Nur. Specially prepared and revised Portuguese translations of the texts were also provided to participants.

Several participants shared their reflections on the program:

Ali: “I was the only Muslim in my city. Being invited here has brought me indescribable joy.”

Lua: “Drug abuse and moral issues are widespread where I live. I’ve realized how powerful these truths can be in addressing such challenges.”

Caterin: “I’ve never experienced such a reading program before. Thank you for this opportunity.”

Cafer: “As a new Muslim, I feel honored to be invited here as part of the Ummah.”

Leysi: “There are no Islamic communities where we live. This program brought us together, and we’ve benefited greatly. We must organize more extensive events in the future.”

Dr. Luya: “We, as new Muslims, are scattered and disconnected. We desperately need such connections and programs. I was deeply inspired by Nursi’s approach to education.”

Spiritual Strength through Unity

In his address to the participants, Said Yüce emphasized the importance of unity in Islam, stating:

“Bediüzzaman Said Nursi explains the verse, ‘All believers are brothers,’ by highlighting the spiritual power of unity. He says that when two ‘alifs’ come together, they make 11; when three come together, they make 111. Likewise, our unity multiplies our strength. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also said, ‘You will not enter Paradise until you have faith, and you will not have faith until you love one another.’ The value of gatherings like this, where we unite for knowledge and faith, is immense. Angels pray for such assemblies, asking Allah for their forgiveness.”

The Power of Prayer and the Importance of Knowledge

Said Yüce further highlighted the significance of serving the Muslim community wherever they may be:

“Serving in such places may seem difficult, but the rewards of these efforts are like diamonds. Wake up at night, pray, and thank Allah. After our prayers, let us ask Allah for guidance in serving Islam and providing solutions to humanity’s challenges.”

He also expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers, emphasizing the importance of these programs as a vital opportunity for education and fellowship among new Muslims. Yüce called for the continuation and expansion of such initiatives.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this meaningful event and to all the participants. We hope that these beautiful examples of unity and education emerging from Brazil will inspire similar efforts worldwide.
