From 6-10 January 2025, the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture (IIKV) and the Afro-Asian Universities Association organized a comprehensive visit to Ghana with the aim of promoting the Risale-i Nur Collection and fostering collaboration. The delegation included IIKV Chairman Said Yüce, representatives from the Arabic Branch, and Afro-Asian General Secretary Prof. Dr. Eshref Abdulrafi Durfili.
Meeting at the Turkish Embassy in Ghana
The visit began with a meeting hosted by Turkish Ambassador to Ghana Hüseyin Güngör at the Turkish Embassy residence in Accra. The discussions focused on the positive developments in Africa-Turkey relations and the importance of strengthening these ties.
Visit to West Africa’s Largest Complex
The delegation visited the largest complex in West Africa, built under the leadership of the Hüdayî Foundation, which includes a mosque, schools, and a library. Here, they engaged in heartfelt conversations with teachers and students and agreed on organizing future programs for studying the “Book of the Universe.”
The delegation also held a meeting with Gibrine Adam, the owner of Ghana’s largest publishing house and a private university. They presented the Mana-i Harfi program, which received significant interest and appreciation.

Visits to the Quran Faculty and Accra Nur Madrasa
The delegation visited the Ghana Quran Faculty, where doctoral and master’s students from 14 West African countries study the Quran using the Ashara-Taqrib methodology.
Inspired by the methodology of the Risale-i Nur, Arabic collections were gifted to the faculty leadership.
Later that day, the delegation visited the Accra Nur Madrasa, where regular lessons are held daily. They observed firsthand how dozens of Ghanaian students were deeply engaged with Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’s works. Chairman Said Yüce highlighted the significance of ongoing efforts with the following remarks:
“There are heroes digging water wells in these lands, and our Nur brothers are performing spiritual excavations. They are quenching hearts with the fountains of the Quran. May Allah accept their services.”
Intense Meetings and Collaborative Decisions
On the final day, the delegation held a meeting with Lakeside University Rector Mohammed Bey. They also engaged in collaborative discussions with foundations that operate schools, hospitals, and water wells across various African countries.
Future joint project agreements were made with Aldiaa Society President Tariq Mohammed Halima and Vice President of the Madina Institute of Science and Technology, Dr. Abdullai Mohammed Sani.
The delegation also participated in activities hosted by the Ziya Foundation, Ghana’s Minister of Hajj Affairs, and the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony.
Conclusion
This four-day visit was a significant step toward promoting the Risale-i Nur Collection, enhancing cooperation within the Islamic world, and developing educational projects. The IIKV delegation emphasized their commitment to continuing their work inspired by these meaningful services in Ghana.
