IFSC Scholar Committee to Attend Islamic Education Conference in Australia

On the 13th of July, a delegation of scholars from the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture (IFSC) will attend the two-day Islamic Education Conference at the University of South Australia, Melbourne.

The two-day conference is being organized by the Center for Islamic Thought and Education, with around 30 academicians scheduled to participate and give presentations and speeches.

Dr. Farid Alatas, professor of sociology from the National University of Singapore, will represent the IFSC by giving a talk and presentation on "The Social Dimension of Justice in Islam: The Contribution of Theology".

Also representing the IFSC will be Prof. Elmira Akhmedova from the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) titled "Islamic Schooling in the Russian Federation in the Context of Muslims' Basic Rights and Social Justice".

Osman Yapar of Ibra College of Technology, Oman along with other academics from the IFSC will also visit local muslim schools and Islamic institutes in Melbourne and meet with muslim educators. They will seek to establish future joint collaborative projects with these institutions based on innovative studies of the Qur'an and the Risale-i Nur.

International Activities

The International Unit of İİKV Explained Risale-i Nur at the Qadiri Gathering in Gambia

Representatives of the International Unit of the Istanbul Foundation for Knowledge and Culture (İİKV) attended the traditional annual gathering of the Qadiri community held in the African country of Gambia. As part of the program, the İİKV delegation came together with Sheikh Muhammad Gilani, one of the descendants of His Holiness Abdul Qadir Gilani and one of the most important spiritual leaders of the Qadiri path today. In the gathering, which took place in a spiritual atmosphere, various lessons and dhikr circles were conducted.
