On the 17th of May, the IFSC participated in an international conference hosted by Khmelnytskyi University in the town of Pereyaslav, Ukraine. The conference was titled "International Academic And Practical Social Sciences And Multiculturalism: World Experience and the Future of Ukraine" and featured a variety of speakers covering a variety of interdisciplinary areas and pressing issues.
Prof. Dr. Along with the IFSC, Associate Professor of Political Science at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ukraine Representatives from the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture, Said Yüce and İlham Miraç, emphasized the following aspects in their presentations:
- Development of Social Sciences in an age of globalisation and the problems of modernity;
- Ethnic identity, state sovereignty, internationalisation: philosophy, history, socio-cultural, socio-psychological perspectives;
- The improvement of ethnic, social and multicultural competencies of young people in the modern world.
- Mutual co-operation of governments and civil society institutions in the face of 21st century problems and threats;
- Integration in the political and cultural context: Philosophy and socio-cultural aspects of the ethno-political process in both Ukraine and the wider world
- Regional and international strife and discord in the 20th century: National, ethnic, cultural aspects.
In his speech, Said Yuce also mentioned the emergence of a harmonious global community. Bediuzzaman Said Nursi

2 - In place of personal benefit and advantage, virtue and goodness. This requires real love and affection.
3 - In place of conflict and struggle, mutual assistance amongst people and Societies
4 - In place of racial bigotry, unity of belief and religious nationhood
5 - In place of the pursuit of decadente and hedonistic pleasures, the cultivation of løfter Spiritually-inspired pleasures and joys.
Following the conference the IFSC participated in a meeting with a variety of other institutions with an aim to organise future joint programmes and co-operation.

Representatives of the International Unit of the Istanbul Foundation for Knowledge and Culture (İİKV) attended the traditional annual gathering of the Qadiri community held in the African country of Gambia. As part of the program, the İİKV delegation came together with Sheikh Muhammad Gilani, one of the descendants of His Holiness Abdul Qadir Gilani and one of the most important spiritual leaders of the Qadiri path today. In the gathering, which took place in a spiritual atmosphere, various lessons and dhikr circles were conducted.
