A New MOU between the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture and the University of Darussalam, Gontor-Indonesia

A new more comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture and The Gontor University of Darussalam, which is located in the East Java Island of Indonesia. The Agreement was signed between the Rector of the UNIDA Prof.Dr. Amal Fathullah Zarkasyi and the President of the Executive Committee of IFSC, Mr. Said Yüce and with the attendance of the concerning academicians.

According to the agreement the two institutions can carry out educational, research and publication activities; exchange students, lecturers and personnel; organize joint academic meetings and exhange resources such as books, documents and research papers.

As a result of bilateral talks a group of students and reserchers from UNIDA are going to visit IFSC in 2019 in order to take an educational course on the Risale-i Nur and Bediuzzaman Said Nursi in English and/or Arabic. Also a Corner containing the books and researches is going to be opened at the university library on the Risale-i Nur and its author Bediuzzaman Said Nursi in various langauges to be presented to the students and the researchers.

Mr. Said Yüce said that Bediuzzaman Said Nursi the author of the Risale-i Nur treatises has explained the meaning of the Qur’an to respond to the needs of the modern man and emphasized on supporting the tenets of belief by bringing proofs from the universe and also proposed solutions to the problems of humanity and the World based on the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed PBUH and the enlightenment of the Qur’an.

The Indonesian academicians indicated that Bediuzzaman Said Nursi and the Risale-i Nur treatises are getting more well-known in Indonesia and that they want to benefit more from them. Finally they said that they want to organize a joint academic activity in the near future.

The International Unit of İİKV Explained Risale-i Nur at the Qadiri Gathering in Gambia

Representatives of the International Unit of the Istanbul Foundation for Knowledge and Culture (İİKV) attended the traditional annual gathering of the Qadiri community held in the African country of Gambia. As part of the program, the İİKV delegation came together with Sheikh Muhammad Gilani, one of the descendants of His Holiness Abdul Qadir Gilani and one of the most important spiritual leaders of the Qadiri path today. In the gathering, which took place in a spiritual atmosphere, various lessons and dhikr circles were conducted.
